Oh, It's On....

Ever have those days where you just NEED to see something good? It's usually the same day you are late to waking up, your kids are whining they don't want to go to school, the copier breaks at work, you catch every red light on the way home, and you burn dinner.

Well have no fear, we've come to the rescue!

Feel better already don't you? Now you never have to settle for only one picture of your favorite Deadliest Catch man, you can have them all!

My hope? I hope you go into a Deadliest Catch Coma from the overdose of Hotties, wake up the next morning refreshed and ready to take on whiny kids, crappy machinery, and horrible traffic. (The dinner? Oh, you are on your own)

Lots of Love!

Due to Popular Demand....

I've been sick. I stayed home on Monday and came home early from work today. Usually on Sundays or Mondays I already have the Hump Day picked out and ready to go. This week? Not so much. I literally remembered 30 minutes ago.

But....my awesome FB friends came to my rescue after I sent out an S.O.S lol. My brain got left behind on Sunday, so I'm glad they all pitched in to give me this idea I should have already figured out.

Le Sigh
Is there anything better than Crosby LeVeen? Hell no! I'm feeling better already!

Sometimes I Gotta Put My Foot Down

I promised in my first post on this blog that I would not dedicate another post to Phil's passing, but I find I must break my oath.

My theory on my promise is this: Once a person passes away, I feel like they should be left alone. Having multiple memorials and events in a deceased person's name just seems like a way to drag the family through more grief.

I speak from experience.

Yes, I understand Phil was mourned by many, loved by all, but he was in essence a family man. He loved his boys, and Jake and Josh loved their father. To continually rub Phil's death in their face is unsightly to me.

So this brings me to the reason for my post today: Phil has officially been laid to rest across the Bering Sea. Jake and Josh have spread his ashes and they are moving on, as the rest of us should. Does this mean we shouldn't remember him? No. Does this mean we should stop doing creepy things like plowing his face in a corn field? Yes.

I do realize this post is my opinion, and that not everyone will share it or agree with me. But when we say RIP Phil, really, we need to remember that means Rest in Peace, and to allow him that. Phil led a hard life, with rough choices and scary moments, and now he is finally able to take a deep breath, climb on his bike, and ride to his heart's content.

A Thank you...

I was sitting in my room thinking about the lose of our shop and another phrase came to mind. "Where catching crabs is a good thing." I know funny but that's not the reason for this post.

I wanted to express to everyone just how much we love all the feedback we get from our blog and on FaceBook. Because of you we have had over 1500 hits and met a lot of really cool people. We have start a trend with Hump Day pics and the opinion polls. I'm speaking for myself but I'm sure I can speak for Shannon too when I say thank you for making us this big. We started this blog as just something we could play with and have a place were we can express ourselves about this industry. I'm happy to know that we have been allowed to enter your homes and have kept up the what information we could for you to read.

Thank you for being here for us. I hope that by some chance we can meet a lot of you this coming year and if not we will always have FaceBook.

I Love Days Like These....

....and by days like these I mean Hump Days! Its Wednesday folks and we got Mr. Travis "I Like To Go Fast" Lofland as our guest of honor today!

Travis: "No way, Edgar."
Edgar: "I am totally serious Travis. There are a group of people on Facebook who post embarrasing pictures of us and call it 'Hump Day.'
Travis: "Who would want to hump you?"
Edgar: "You would be surprised."

Hmm....I'm guilty. Anyway, Happy Hump Day everyone! Only a couple of more days until the weekend!

P.S. Travis is looking HOT in that picture. Just sayin'.... (I have a weak spot for men with soul patches.)

It All Started With A Dream...

And ended tragically.....

About a month ago, Aidin and I tried to figure out a way to get some extra money to sponsor our trip to Astoria for next year's Fisherman's Festival (this is where the dream part comes in). I mumbled something about loving to have some of my fave Deadliest Catch Quotes on a shirt, and BAM! The idea was born to open a shop with various t shirt ideas.

Which is all well and good.

Until you factor in W-9s, space for the store, paying for the store (which is a HUGE problem), and the crappy transfer sheets that make the shirts look plastic. Not to mention the fact that store bought white shirts are so damn see through its pathetic (and scary).

So good shirts cost about $75 for one size in one color.
A t shirt machine costs around $2000 (which would competlely negate the money we were trying to raise)
And the start up costs were more than I could handle.

So without further hesitiation (because that's what this entire post has been) Aidin and I are annoucing we are closing the shop.

We tried slashing prices, we tried thinking of putting the designs on totes (guys don't buy totes though), and we are just tired of getting our hopes up only to have them crash and burn and then smolder for days on end. Ok, that was dramatic, but true.

To all of our friends who tried to support us through this, thank you, and we understand times are tough, trust me, we know. To the friends who have graciously invited us to stay with them next year, you are the best, but we will have to decline now.

With that....the store is closed.

Thank you...and goodnight.
